I have two of these beanies, one in olive heather and one in navy blue. I have had the olive one for years, and just recently got one in navy because I was on a trip and had left the olive one at home. Boy are these warm! I'm a huge fan of wool but it is amazing how warm these are given that they are very light and not bulky. I've used mine under a motorcycle helmet traveling through Washington state during the winter and it kept my noggin nice and toasty.
The cuffed style is nice, as it folds down to effectively cover your ears and down the back of your head. Despite being light, they are nearly as warm as the expedition wool beanie I use in the backcountry when things are really frigid. (when I also have this one along anyway) The size makes this super-convenient - I always have it stashed in the pocket of my fleece jacket, so it's always there when I need it. It is also machine washable and won't shrink to a size my cat could wear like some other wool garments I've had. Despite its effectiveness in the cold, it also breathes well, making it equally suited for use on fall or spring days when the air is still a bit crisp, but not terribly cold.
Like other wool items, this one will keep insulating and keeping you warm even when wet. I've been wearing this in the cold rain, soaked, and it still kept my head warm. While keeping out moderate breeze, a good, stiff wind will cut through this; a hat worn over it - the Tilly T3 being my hat of choice Tilley Endurables T3 Traditional Canvas Hat) - solves this problem and also helps with rain. It's also a decent price to pay for something so comfortable, useful, and well made.
This beanie is one size fits all, but it has worked well on all members of my family, from me to my three year old daughter - though it flops around on top with her, giving her a disturbing smurf-like appearance. For reference, my noggin takes a 7 3/4 hat size. I also wear glasses, and for the myopic among you I can attest that this beanie fits well around the frames with enough flex not to squash the glasses down on the bridge of your nose. I can't say that for all the beanies I've tried.
A good and warm buy, and an enthusiastic five stars.

I live in Europe and we play soccer year-round. Bought several beanies at once, and decided to use this one for my outdoor sports in the winter. Keeps my head warm while standing in the goal box waiting for the ball to come my way. I'm totally satisfied with it. It's totally fine for going out around town, also. It does just what it needs to do.

I bought this beanie to wear under my bike helmet in the winter. It fits well (including covering my ears) and keeps my head warm in Chicago winters -- can't ask for more than that.
The beanie is very thin and tight-fitting. On the rare occasion when I jog outside in the winter, I use this beanie and it works very well. However, if I weren't exercising, I would want a second hat or a hood to wear over it for extra warmth.
